This new book on metal is the third in the “Savoir & faire” collection, co-published with the Hermès Corporate Foundation, as part of the Académie des savoir-faire created in 2014. Celebrating “the homo faber” in a society dominated by a highly mechanized industry, preparing for the integration of artificial intelligence, might seem, at first sight, to go against the current of our time. On the contrary, it is a question of affirming the contribution of artisanal know-how in the general evolution of the future of man and his environment.
