Description

This is my first sculpture. Originally, it was to be partially set on an asphalt block. I had been researching asphalt, because I love the depth of its blacks, its shine and the play of shadow and light on its surface. I intended to make a closed shape but, while I was creating it, I felt the need to open it up to show its interior.
